One family, four kids... talk about a full house! We spent the afternoon with the Brisbane family today - Mum and Dad, and kids Scott, Luke, Kristy and Matthew. Gorgeous family, gorgeous kids, simple as that!

We forgot how easy it is to photograph the older kids... we're used to chasing crazy, busy toddlers around the studio - these guys were told to sit here or here etc and they stayed put! What a breeze!

There are so many wonderful things about doing this job, but one of the best has got to be meeting so many beautiful families... and today was no exception.

Annabelle and Emilia came in for a visit with their Mummy and Daddy - what a gorgeous family, so lovely! As you can see these two little girls were just cute as apple pie and ever so obliging for their photos. Annabelle especially was having a great time and was getting right into the change of outfits and the oh so important matching hair clips... got to love a girl who knows her accessories!

And as for Emilia, well just look at those eyelashes!... need I say more?!

As followers of our blog would know, we have been out of action for the past few months, due to Amanda being injured in a serious accident. Amanda's road to recovery is a long and tough one but she continues to amaze all that know her with strength, courage and plain old hard work. Thank you to the many clients who have checked in over the past few months to see how Amanda is doing - we cannot tell you how much your care and concern has meant to us.

Please be advised that we will be taking the next 6 months off from sessions while Amanda continues to recover (not to mention meets her new little baby in March!) and we hope to be back up in running in October 2012.

There are several shoots that needed to be re-scheduled immediately after the accident and Kate has now commenced fulfilling those shoots, so you will still see a few new little faces on the blog over the next month or so, and then after that we'll be back bigger and better than ever later in the year!

Our first little visitor back in the studio was 8 month old Harrison, and what a treat to come back to. Harrison was all smiles and just lovely, and his Mummy was just as gorgeous! Really enjoyed chatting to you, Amanda, and hearing about your wonderful "surprise!!" - hope you love your photos.

We are always excited to do our blog posts, as each and every baby we meet is so special. But without a doubt this post is extra extra special... because it is to announce the arrival of the newest member of the Baby Steps family! That's right, we're thrilled to share the news that Kate gave birth to a gorgeous little man, Hamish Graeme Facey on 23 August this year. 50cm and 3.9kg of perfection!

Hamish has slotted right in to the family with very little fuss, he's such a calm little fellow - we couldn't ask for anything more! Allegra is relishing her role as big sister, and dotes on her "little honey" at every opportunity - it absolutely melts your heart to see them together.

Thank you to all our friends and clients who have sent such lovely warm wishes to help us celebrate Hamish's arrival - we are just over the moon with our little man, and completely in love with him already!

In fact we're very excited to have some big news to share... we have been named as a Finalist in the 2011 Parramatta Local Business Awards - Professional Services category! We are so excited, and so proud of this achievement, especially given that a large focus of the award criteria centres around customer service, an area that we are 100% committed to.

Aaah, another day another cutie! Meet Isabella, one very cute 14 month old!

Isabella was such a doll. She just LOVES music - it was so adorable seeing her reaction to our chorus of nursery rhymes, she was smiling and bouncing around, and even singing along in her own special language. As you can see from these first shots, she gets right into it! All babies tend to respond to music, but this little girl was something special!

After a big run of toddlers over the past couple of weeks, how lovely it was to have a precious newborn visit us at the studio. And how precious she was - so teeny tiny.

Little Isla might have given us a run for our money in the sleeping stakes, but we won out in the end... she needed that all important sleep to help her grow big and strong!

Baby Benjamin came to meet us at 10 weeks old. Any photographer will tell you that the "rules" of photography are, that if you want those sleepy, curly newborn poses, you really need to have your shoot done in the first 10 days. So much for the "rules"!!! Benjamin was perfectly happy to curl up and sleep away for the second half of his shoot - and we were just thrilled to be able to capture a combination of awake and sleeping shots for Mum and Dad!

We spent such a lovely morning with Alex and Valentina on Saturday, we could have not asked for a better way to kick off our 3 sessions for a busy day!

It goes without saying that these two are gorgeous... just look at them. But it was their adorable relationship that melted us both! Alex has got to be the sweetest, kindest 4 year old we have ever had the pleasure to meet in our studio. He was just so beautiful with Valentina, looking after her, kissing her, cuddling her, and aside from all that, what a help he was to us!

Any photographer will tell you that keeping an almost 1 year old still is no easy task - that wasn't something we had to worry about on Saturday! Alex just kept moving right along with her (!), he made sure he was always close enough to his little sister that we could catch the photo! What a trooper!

Just look at this happy, smiley bundle of cuteness. Meet baby Isla, 3 1/2 months old and absolutely adorable. And yes, she was pretty much born with that amazing head of hair (although when you see her Mummy's hair it's not hard to see where it comes from!)

Isla was such a perfect model for us today. A little older than most of our newborn shoots, we weren't expecting to be able to get too many sleepy shots, but she smiled and smiled her way all through her session, and then like magic fell asleep in about a minute(!) so we could finish with some "sleepies"... perfect!

Another extra special shoot today, with Kate's friend, Lucy, bringing in her two little bubs for some shots before Christmas. Kate and Lucy go way back to school days (they bonded over a love of The Babysitters Club!!! Ahhh memories!)

First up was little Claudia, check out that hair... sooo cute and crazy! Claudia was the perfect little model, such an easy going, happy little thing... we plomped her down and away we went! Next up was big brother, Owen, and we ask you... is it fair for a little boy to have cheekbones that divine???? Women everywhere would kill for that! It's always extra special when we do a personal shoot, and so doing this shoot was extra extra special, as these guys' Mama and Daddy are two of Kate's favourite people in the whole world! They also happen to love Christmas as much as Kate, so how could today not be a blast?!

Meet our little friends Harrison and Austin... funny, lively, balls of fun and completely adorable! The boys are so well mannered that we were probably done in all of 15 minutes... but we threw in a few extra shots for good measure!

What an absolute pleasure today's shoot was! When Mary called to book in a session for her 6 beautiful grandchildren, we thought, "wow we're going to have our work cut out for us here!", but boy we were wrong! What a well mannered, patient and obliging group of kiddies. Meet Rose, Jessie, Charlie, Ruby, Angus and baby Declan - absolutely gorgeous all of them, and all so much fun!

We had Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Bros pumping (I think Rose and Jessie knew every single word!), Ruby had us in stitches with her very theatrical cries of "get out of my shot"!!!!!, and Angus was such a character in his favourite Wallabies shirt. Charlie was a little shy at first, but even he gave us some absolutely adorable smiles... and that hair? Unbelievable!!! Last but not least, Declan. Well that gorgeous happy face says it all... divine!

Six kids means an extra long sneak peek, but we have so many favourites from the shoot we had trouble even narrowing it down to these. Enjoy!

Today's shoot was just beautiful. Ok OBVIOUSLY little Joshua is beautiful, but the best part of the shoot was not staring down at this tiny sleeping beauty, his perfect nose, his little fingers... it was watching the way his Mummy looked at him. I kept finding myself looking at Kristy as she looked at her sleeping 'bubba' (as big brother Lachlan calls him!). It was just pure adoration, and it was absolutely beautiful to see. We had another great day at Hide and Seek market on Sunday. It was definitely a case of two being twice as nice when Evie and Nate came to visit yesterday - talk about so sweet! Evie is the most patient little girl (yes a patient toddler!) and was just so lovely with her new baby brother, so gentle. Nate is just adorable and was the perfect model - he slept all the way through his shoot!

PS. We also just had to mention Evie's special bracelet. Evie lived overseas for 6 months and she has a special charm bracelet showing each of the places she has already visited. Such a lovely keepsake for when she is older, and she loved showing us each of the places she has been! So cute!

Cute cute cute! We were over run with cuteness here today, with a visit from Amanda's gorgeous nieces.

Tzara and Georgia, are two of the nicest, most well mannered girls we know, and they are such wonderful big sisters to little Temperance. They just adore her, and she definitely adores them! In fact, this was probably one of the easiest shoots we have done... Tzara and Georgia were our little assistants, getting Temperance to smile for all her shots. After that they were in on the action for a bit of sisterly love!

And just in case you were wondering, no we didn't put a fan on Temperance for that oh so glam windswept look... that is just her gorgeous, wild, amazing hair!

This is a bit of a long post as we have so many favourites we couldn't choose... plus we know Ally will love to see them straight away! Enjoy!

Libby and Allan came to see us today with 3 week old Charlotte. Wow, talk about amazing for new parents... if we didn't know better we would swear they had done this before... they were so relaxed and calm!

As you can see Charlotte was just a bundle of cuteness. At 3 weeks, she is a little older than most of our newborns, so she was wide awake our entire shoot - such an alert little one, perfectly happy just sitting up taking in everything going on around her.

We always love it when clients bring in a special personal item and Charlotte was given the most beautiful quilt hand sewn by her Great Grandmother. It was absolutely divine, and obviously made with so much love, so it was a must to include in some shots!

We fall in love with each and every baby that comes to visit us, but this little one we loved long before she arrived, and before we even knew that she was a "she"!

Little Natalie May is the brand new daughter of Kate's very best friends, so it was so special to be sharing this wonderful time in their lives, and taking Natalie's newborn photos. Mummy (Katrina) was super calm and relaxed, and therefore so was baby Nat, sleeping peacefully for us so that we could get some lovely shots of the new family.

We get to share in that last little stage of our clients' pregnancies, and we share their excitement, wondering will it be a boy, will it be a girl!? Well, Alice and Clint were back today with their little bundle of... PINK! Yes, it's a girl! Laura Rose... isn't that just the prettiest name?

Laura was such an angel for her entire shoot. A lovely big feed and then she drifted off to sleep and let us play for hours!

We know we tend to go on and on about all the little outfits our clients bring in, but seriously, seeing their amazing wardrobes is one of the highlights of this job - especially as we are both Mothers to little girls ourselves... we get lots of outfit inspiration! The Baby Steps Launch

Baby Steps was officially launched last night, and thanks to the thundering weather, we literally went off with a bang! We didn't let bad weather stop us though - what a night it was! A few toasts, a few glasses of bubbles, cutting of the big red bow (every good opening has a big red bow doesn't it!?!?) and we were open!

It was so exciting to unveil the studio for the first time. It was only fitting that we share the occasion with our nearest and dearest - many have been involved in building the studio in some way or another, and ALL have supported us 100% of the way! We know what you're thinking, "haven't you been operating for a while?", and the answer is yes we have, but we are proud to say that our very own dedicated studio space is now finished... Baby Steps has a home!
